We have asked an immigration lawyer, a risk management expert, and a student trip planning expert to join us for a Panel Discussion.

Panelists
Dave Dennis is founder and Executive Director of Cornerstone Safety Group.
He has a risk management master’s degree from Norwich University, spent the past 30 years in domestic and international travel operations, and advised over 80 organizations in risk management and crisis response. Dave is also on the Gap Year Association's Board of Directors, co-chairs their Standards and Accreditation Committee, and is an active member of SYTA’s Health and Safety Committee.
Before starting Cornerstone, Dave was a guide, Operations Manager, and eventually held Vice President roles within the adult, study abroad, and student travel sectors. He's responded to thousands of incidents of all severity types and is often relied upon as an industry expert and mentor speaking at several conferences annually.
Ali Iberraken is the founder and CEO of Chapperone, a web platform and mobile app that helps schools simplify and streamline student travel. Before launching Chapperone, Ali spent over a decade as a teacher and administrator, leading tens of student trips across the U.S. and abroad. Those experiences—balancing safety, logistics, and meaningful learning—sparked her mission to build technology that removes the pain from coordinating youth travel while protecting educators and institutions from risk. A former Upper School Dean and physics teacher, Ali brings deep insight into the realities of K–12 education and the challenges teachers face on the ground.
Andrea Canona started her legal career as an Attorney Advisor at the Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review, through the Attorney General’s Honors Program. In 2017 she co-founded Andrade Canona PLLC, a boutique immigration law firm in Miami, Florida, focused on family and business immigration, including extraordinary ability petitions, national interest waivers, investor visas, corporate transfers, etc. Andrea is a sought-after lecturer and is often invited to speak about immigration law to audiences in the United States and internationally. Andrea is passionate about finding creative legal solutions for her clients, and she enjoys researching complex issues in the law. She also dedicates her time to educating people about immigration law through videos, radio shows, lectures and articles. Andrea is actively involved with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
